Now that summer is in full gear, it’s imperative to get yourself a pair of good looking, quality sunglasses. Ray Ban Aviator’s are a great choice and have been seen on the likes of Brad Pitt, Zac Efron, Alicia Keys, Drew Barrymore, Val Kilmer, Lindsay Lohan and Hugh Jackman.

Developed in 1937, the Aviators are a classic style that look good on just about any face shape. The name was given to them for their oblique teardrop shape, which are the same shape as those Ray Ban was selling at the time to Army and Navy. The sun and glare protection helped military pilots during day missions and dogfights.

While the design was popular for a number of reasons, an interesting one is that Army and Navy members especially liked the bar across the bridge of the nose, because they could keep a cigarette on it.

But for the everyday civilian-these just look cool.
