3D Televisions
Just as people are just about replacing their last DLP television sets, companies unveil new technology that will make LCD, Plasma, and 1080P High-Definition a thing of the past. 3D Televisions are the apparent wave of the future, but don’t go throwing out your Hi-Def model just yet.

Not all 3D Televisions are the same just yet. Companies are still vying for the right technology solution. Some models are even boasting 3D pictures without the use of the goofy goggles that we remember from seeing 3D movies in the theater. The technology is still the same as it was back in 1840 when David Brewster created a 3-Dimensional picture for Queen Victoria using a Stereoscope. You show each eye the same picture with a slight variation in depth or distance and our minds will merge the image internally into a 3D shape.

In the 1950s 3D movies were in vogue and studios all rushed to make their movies in 3D. Yet by 1953, market research proved to these studios that the American public didn’t care about 3D images, so production in 3D stopped. This means that the future of 3D TV is in the consumers hands. If Americans are not willing to buy these new sets, then you can bet companies like Samsung and Panasonic will stop making them.
