Socializing the Corporation
I’m sure you’ve all been following the phenomenal growth of facebook, whose influence on the business world is increasing exponentially on a daily basis. TIME managing editor, Richard Stengel, writing in his new book, The Connector, points out that the world population in 2012 will be over 7 billion people; 2 billion will have Facebook pages.
Over 700,000 people join a day and over 100 million photos are posted a day. Staggering! Some corporations have done a better job than others at embracing and utilizing this technology, but the message is clear. Facebook is here to stay and if your company wants to survive and prosper, it had better develop a social networking strategy sooner rather than later.
