For anyone who enjoys the restaurant experience, a visit to New York is filled with anticipation. Home to so many world renowned chefs and possessing a variety of cuisines unmatched anywhere on the globe, the choices are staggering. No matter how much of a dedicated foodie you may be, it’s almost impossible to keep up with the constantly changing scene.
As a lifelong New Yorker, restaurateur and food lover, I’m often asked for recommendations. So here’s my arbitrary, completely biased, list of essential restaurants. Some are fairly new. Others you may have forgotten in the rush to the newest, the hippest, the hottest, thing. So before you head to the latest Cuban -Italian café on the LES, do yourself a favor and try one of these icons of New York’s dining culture, still cooking after all these years.
