Gehrig was one of the greatest players in Major League Baseball history and he was also part of one of the most touching moments ever to take place on a baseball field.

On July 4, 1939 Gehrig’s uniform number was retired making it the first player uniform number to be retired in baseball history. On that day he also bid farewell to his many fans.

This beautiful framed piece commemorates Gehrig giving his famous farewell speech at Yankee Stadium on July 4, 1939. This collage features the text from the famous speech. The photograph measures 11×17 and framed it is approximately 15″x21″.
